My family celebrated two birthdays this week. My Dad turned 65 last Monday and Berry turned 4 today. We have been having an insane amount of food. Insane, I tell you.
Mom went all out with the food at Dad’s party. There were two spaghetti sauces – pesto cream and bacon and mushroom – salad greens, chicken pot pie, a truckload of inihaw na ribs that I never got to try,
and the star of the table, roast beef. For dessert, we had fruit salad, 2 apple pies, a chocolate cake from Tita Carina, and Mary Grace’s Mango Bene from Sol.
Berry had a pink-and-purple themed party. Erica prepared Mamia’s chorizo sauce recipe, and a baked macaroni, two kinds of chicken – an adobo and my favorite roasted rosemary chicken, and corn dogs.
For dessert, there was a pink-colored buko pandan salad, chocolate cake with pink icing, and another rainbow cake (purple and pink stripes inside) that was very very pretty, too pretty to eat!
I think I ate enough for two weeks. Sigh.
